Today’s featured app is MapItOut: Route and Travel Planner App. I chose this one over a bunch of other map apps because it’s simply one of the best, most complete apps of this kind that I’ve used on my phone. I used this one on my recent trip abroad and found that unlike many other travel maps this one is fully usable when you don’t have any internet connection available. All I had to do was to go to the place I wanted to visit and download the corresponding app on my phone for later use. I planned out my route and had full access to everything for the two days my of my trip.
Not only did MapItOut allow me to use the app as a GPS, but I was able to find a couple of Restaurants too. Upon further inspection, I saw that it’s not just restaurants: Museums, Theaters, Coffee shops (since I have to have my coffee wherever I go) and all sorts of other attractions are available at a tap.
Apart from that, you can use just about every other main feature you would expect from such an app: find your car wherever you parked it, set points of interest, share specific locations and get awesome directions.
The app costs $1.99 in the App Store and it’s not based on a greedy in-app purchase system, so you can use the main features with ease without having to pay for every gesture. All in all, I give MapItOut a thumbs up!
