It seems like the latest trend when it comes to iOS games, and mobile games in general for that matter, consist of simple, downright minimal games that require skill. I’ve been a long time fan of this genre, so that’s why I took the chance to make today’s iPhone game recommendation: a fun, sometimes frustrating skill game called Sea Missle.
The gameplay of this game is fairly easy to describe if you played the insanely popular Flappy Bird, or one of the hundreds of spin-off games that appeared shortly after its demise: you control a missle and your goal is to travel underwater as far as you can, without hitting any obstacles. These impediments will come to you in the form of fish, ships, sea mines or other avoidable objects, like barrels of nuclear waste.
The game is fun and it hooks you surprisingly fast. I usually avoid using the „addictive” attribute for games, as I think it’s being far overused, but Sea Missle sometimes made me think it over again.
As is the case with many of these skill games, Sea Missle isn’t about the story, the powerups or the various hats. Instead, this is a game you have to actually be good at, and you have to go through a lot of trial and error to get there. And along the way, you end up having a ton of fun.
Sea Missle is free in the App Store right now so feel free to snatch it up and give it a go.
